Time: 12:30 – 17:30
Location: Domstad Utrecht
There is a shortage of staff in healthcare. This requires looking beyond the normal aspects such as effectiveness and costs when making decisions in healthcare. A temporary committee appointed by the Zorginstituut Nederland recently considered the question of how to include โlabour inputโ as a consideration in advices to reimburse care from the basic package.
Outside the domain of HTA, people have of course been thinking about health and work for some time now; Professor Karin Proper of RIVM will talk about her many years of experience with research in this area. Professor Werner Brouwer is a member of the previously mentioned ZIN committee and will update us about the committee’s work. In the meantime, researchers such as Dr. Lucas Goossens are investigating how to measure labor input in healthcare in a feasible way. He is happy to explain this to us. Let’s meet, learn and discuss!
And by the way, despite the shortage in healthcare, there is a wealth of young talent in our HTA field. We will see three pitches from researchers who will present their recent HTA publication, after which we will decide together which of them deserves the NVTAG prize! On April 3rd, 3 nominees for the NVTAG prize 2024 will pitch their research at the NVTAG symposium in Utrecht. The attendees of this syposium may vote for the winning research. The winner of the NVTAG prize will receive eternal fame and a cash prize of 1,000 Euro courtesy of our sponsor Lumanity.
This year, seven high quality published articles have been submitted for review by the independend jury. The NVTAG appreciates the members of the jury, Carmen Dirksen (MUMC), Mirre Scholte (RadboudUMC), en Joost Enzing (ZIN) for their time and expertise resulting in their recommendations.
The chosenย nominees are:
– Stijntje Dijk (Erasmus University) with the article “Making Drug Approval Decisions in the Face of Uncertainty: Cumulative Evidence versus Value of Information”
– Daphne Voormolen (Erasmus University) with “Development and Content Validation of the 10โitem Wellโbeing Instrument (WiX) for use in Economic Evaluation Studies”
– Elena Agachi (Groningen University) with โThe impact of a lifestyle behaviour change program on healthcare costs: Quasi-experimental real-world evidence from an open-access mobile health app in the Netherlandsโ
Catch their insightful research presentations. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with their pitches, pose questions, and participate in the voting process
The main language will be English, with possibly some contributions in Dutch.
Registration for the symposium is now open, first come, first served.
